Welcome to Adam Zehner PHOTOS by Adam Zehner

Welcome to Adam Zehner PHOTOS, the new home of azehnermedia!

As my photography has changed since first launching azehnermedia, so too, must my outlet for showcasing my work.  I've made a lot of changes, but kept the main parts of my original vision.  A few aspects have been tweaked, such as the content that I plan on posting.  Instead of posting industry news, I plan on keeping readers up-to-date with my shooting schedule.  I've also worked on my backend workflow, simplifying the process of posting content.  Because I've streamlined my posting process, I will also be able to post more often!  I'm excited to start to employ these new changes and look forward to sharing my new focus!

A fresh focus.

Fresh ideas.

New direction.

Again, welcome to Adam Zehner PHOTOS.

Tre Sorelle Presents: One Night in Rio by Adam Zehner

Summer. Rooftop. Bikinis. CLEVELAND.

Now that I have your attention, I recently covered an event produced by Tre Sorelle, a boutique in Little Italy, promoting their summer collection of bathing suits. The suits were designed around a Brazilian theme, hence the title "One Night in Rio". Even though I was in Cleveland, sipping on a piña colada on a roof-top bar, I couldn't help but feel like I was south of the equator. The stage was set and models began to line up behind the gold fringe foil curtain. Eager patrons lined the bar and walls, waiting for the show to begin. Everyone was there to see unique designs, bold colors, and vibrant patterns.

After all, it was "One Night in Rio".

GOLDEN STATE: Yosemite II by Adam Zehner

The final segment of the GOLDEN STATE series is a two part gallery, with images from Yosemite Valley and from the top of Glacier Point. Glacier Point is a rock cliff that overlooks Yosemite Valley and offers spectacular views of Half Dome and the mountain range that is, Yosemite National Park.

Looking at these pictures, you can really tell how much the sunset alters the colors and feeling of the scenery. I've arranged these shots by the time of day in order to illustrate a clear view of what it's like to witness a sunset in Yosemite.

I had a great time taking and working on all the photographs (over 1,500 of them) and getting them out there for all to see. California is a incredible place with lots to see and do. I'll definitly be back sometime soon!

Thanks for viewing the GOLDEN STATE series!

GOLDEN STATE: Yosemite I by Adam Zehner

The final segment of the GOLDEN STATE series is a two part gallery, with images from Yosemite Valley and from the top of Glacier Point. First of all, Yosemite Valley is a wonderful place. The scale of all the mountains that surround you is truly awe inspiring and the sheer rock faces that envelope you, nearly 360 degrees, make for an amazing experience.

PRO TIP: If you go to Yosemite Valley, visit on a weekday. The Valley can become very busy on weekend days. Save yourself some hassle, and go when the crowds aren't there.

GOLDEN STATE: San Francisco by Adam Zehner

These are my street photographs; From vibrant sidewalks of Chinatown to top of Twin Peaks, and a little bit in between. I wandered around the city, capturing people and taking in all that the city has to offer.

I caught up with Kevin Black of the Kevin Black Collection and had a chance to ask him a few questions about his fashion, his views on the regional industry, and more! First off, I was interested to see what inspires a designer, like him, to do what he does every day. I was surprised to hear that he pulls inspiration from the women whom he designs for. Being at the show, I gathered a strong sense of this; he believes that all women "...have the right to be fashion fearless". I also was interested to see how he views the fashion industry in Ohio. According to him, he wishes to push more local designers to raise to the "industry standard" and continue to solidify Ohio's place in fashion. Finally, I asked him if he had a favorite design from the show. Although he cares very much for his whole line, he did say that he quite liked this design.

I was honored with being the official photographer for the 2nd Annual Fashion Experience put on by Heart Of It All Fashion in Columbus, OH. The experience took place over two days with fashion shows held each night. The first, a couture show that demonstrated designers abilities to push the boundaries of fashion design. The next event was focused around streetwear design. This event showcased designers style with everyday designs and sense of "everyday style".

The Location

Both events took place in Columbus, OH; on the campus of Ohio State (where Heart of it All was founded). Columbus was a fine location to host such an event. It's the geographical center of Ohio, with lots of burgeoning industries like fashion. Columbus is a very progressive city and bursting at the seams with creativity & style. Bringing the event to Columbus was a great move.

The Designers

I had a little time to chat with (a few designer/s) about their designs, their process, their path, and their vision. Talking to these individuals, I really got a sense of their inspiration for why they do what they do. They live it. It is their outward expression of themselves, and they take pride in what they do. They have an outlet for their creativity and a means to make it all happen. Many of the designers have/had a brick and mortar store, often located in a very progressive area of Columbus. Others design for major companies and continue to bring their vision to their own brands.

The Models

The models were great! Some may admit that they were amateur models, looking to improve their craft, however I felt that their execution, on both nights, was professional through and through. I had the opportunity to observe before and after the show and I was amazed at their devotion to the craft. Their upmost respect for the producers (AC and Nadiyah), the designers, the hair and make-up artists, and the whole event crew. Their goal was to put on the best exhibition they could, and did they!

A very special thank you to Nadiyah Harper and the whole Heart of it All crew for the opportunity for me and my crew to cover the event!
