Motorsport is quickly becoming one of my favorite things to follow. It’s exciting, tense, loud, fast, and the story-lines can become legend.
Take for instance the Ferrari v Ford battle that took place back in 1966 at Le Mans. How it has become a legend among American racing fans. How Ford got into racing after being thwarted in a board room acquisition of the Ferrari brand. Showing up to one of the most prestigious races, 24 Hours of Le Mans, and not just beating Ferrari, but finishing 1 & 2 to solidify their place among champions.
Fast forward 50 years to 2016, Ford announced that it would return to endurance racing with the newly redesigned GT. The program has been decently successful the past few years, but it was announced recently that the program would stop running races as part of the factory program. I realized that this might be the last chance I get to photograph the GT before it vanishes back into history.
So I packed my things and headed back down to Mid-Ohio for the 2019 Sports Car Challenge. Below are the final images I chose to share. I hope you enjoy them!
