I was honored with being the official photographer for the 2nd Annual Fashion Experience put on by Heart Of It All Fashion in Columbus, OH. The experience took place over two days with fashion shows held each night. The first, a couture show that demonstrated designers abilities to push the boundaries of fashion design. The next event was focused around streetwear design. This event showcased designers style with everyday designs and sense of "everyday style".

The Location

Both events took place in Columbus, OH; on the campus of Ohio State (where Heart of it All was founded). Columbus was a fine location to host such an event. It's the geographical center of Ohio, with lots of burgeoning industries like fashion. Columbus is a very progressive city and bursting at the seams with creativity & style. Bringing the event to Columbus was a great move.

The Designers

I had a little time to chat with (a few designer/s) about their designs, their process, their path, and their vision. Talking to these individuals, I really got a sense of their inspiration for why they do what they do. They live it. It is their outward expression of themselves, and they take pride in what they do. They have an outlet for their creativity and a means to make it all happen. Many of the designers have/had a brick and mortar store, often located in a very progressive area of Columbus. Others design for major companies and continue to bring their vision to their own brands.

The Models

The models were great! Some may admit that they were amateur models, looking to improve their craft, however I felt that their execution, on both nights, was professional through and through. I had the opportunity to observe before and after the show and I was amazed at their devotion to the craft. Their upmost respect for the producers (AC and Nadiyah), the designers, the hair and make-up artists, and the whole event crew. Their goal was to put on the best exhibition they could, and did they!

A very special thank you to Nadiyah Harper and the whole Heart of it All crew for the opportunity for me and my crew to cover the event!
