Shela C., dual citizen of Ecuador & the United States, splits her time between the two countries modeling and studying fashion design. In addition to all of that, she's also developing her very own fashion clothing brand, S.C. by Shela Cooper. I caught up with her this summer & shot a set near downtown Akron.

I used one off camera flash & a shoot-through umbrella to light the majority of photos from the set. All of the shots were taken with a 50mm (85mm equiv.) lens on my 7D. We scheduled the shoot for dusk and worked with the setting sun and the available ambient light.

I was limited with my lighting positions as one of my flashes broke (full disclosure: I dropped it...) just a day before the shoot. So, instead of having a swiveling unit to trigger the off camera flash, I used the camera's straight forward pop-up flash. Not the most ideal circumstances, but I was still able to pull off a few nicely lit photos during the shoot.
